Its a known fact that Dev Anand was amongst the first to sign Lucky Ali to face the camera for his film. But Lucky is no longer part of this project. According to sources, Lucky gave more prominence to his role in KAANTE and did not turn up for the shooting of Dev Anands LOVE AT TIMES SQUARE at R.K. Studios, which resulted in the veteran film-maker replacing him with another actor Shoebh Khan. When we contacted Dev Anand to verify the story, he had a different story to tell: There were no date problems. Actually, I found Lucky too old for this character (the romantic hero), which is why I decided to cast Shoebh instead. In any case, Lucky Ali will feature in a song of the film, besides composing all the songs. In the meanwhile, Dev Anands project on Nepals royal massacre is titled RAJMAHAL KA HATYAKAND.
