Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor have come together for the first time in Nitesh Tiwari's film, Bawaal, creating a lot of buzz and anticipation among fans. Today, the much-awaited trailer of Bawaal was unveiled at a special event in Dubai. Following the grand trailer release, Varun, Janhvi, and the entire team engaged with the media, sharing thrilling insights about their film. During the interaction, Sajid Nadiadwala, producer of the film, revealed why Bawaal is sought to release on an OTT platform rather than having a theatrical release even though it has bankable lead actors.

Sajid Nadiadwala said, “We started this film about a year back and when we were going through the material, we thought and after seeing the dailies and after seeing the edit, all of us thought that this should be said internationally on a single day simultaneously in all the languages. Nitesh Sir was there, we all agreed, Varun, all the people and finally we had a great partner like Amazon. They were so overwhelmed to see this film being released in 200 countries and not a better partner than them.”

Bawaal revolves around Ajay Dixit, an ordinary albeit popular high school history teacher Ajay Dixit, also known as Ajju bhaiya, who enjoys mini celebrityhood in his town, courtesy the fake image he has built about himself. Circumstances compel him to embark on World War II trail in Europe, and he is forced to take along his newly-wed wife Nisha, with whom he shares a strained relationship. What follows is a series of events that test his marriage and force him to confront the biggest war of them all- the war within. Shot in India and multiple international locales, this love story has a meaningful message, which is sure to resonate with audiences worldwide.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, and starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor, Bawaal is a timeless love story by Sajid Nadiadwala’s production banner Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment in collaboration with Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari and Nitesh Tiwari’s Earthsky Pictures. Bawaal will premiere exclusively on Prime Video in India on 21 July.
