Anu again tagged for murdering originality

Anu Malik has done it again! After all his wonderful and supposedly original compositions from LOC to Main Hoon Na in the recent months, Anu is one again tagged as a song-lifter. The complaint comes all the way from Bangladesh from a music band called Miles, which has filed a petition in the Kolkata high court against music director Anu Malik and producers Mukesh and Mahesh Bhatt and the music company Saregama-HMV. The claim is that Anu has copied musical notes and chords from the band’s original composition Phiraiya Dao Aamar Prem composed way back in 1991 for his track Jane Jana in the first hit film of 2004, Murder. The court has taken the case seriously and issued a stay order on any further manufacturing and selling of the music albums of Murder. However Mahesh Bhatt claims that they had bought the song from a Jeddah-based Pakistani singer Amir Jamal, which was only recreated by Anu Malik later. Moreover the Bhatts aren’t bothered much as the song does not feature in the film. Incidentally the same music company Saregama-HMV released a Miles album some years back featuring the best compositions of the band from 1991 to 2000.
