He is called the Indian Jackie Chan. Akshay Kumar is undoubtedly Indias answer to Jackie Chan when it comes to death defying action. What happens when our desi version meets the original icon? Well, thats what exactly happened. In a coup of sorts, Akshay finally came face to face with the last action heroyes, Jackie Chan! The Hong Kong Tourism Board was instrumental in making the two action heroes meet. It was a one-hour meeting in Jackies private office in Kowloon where the two superstars caught up over Chinese tea to discuss films, family, fights and more. The two met and discussed their first love.martial arts and of course Hong Kong. I love visiting Hong Kong. The city has so much energy. Akshay told Chan. Akshay visited Hong Kong with wife Twinkle and son Aarav. As Chans private guests, he was personally looked after by the ever- efficient Hong Kong Tourism Board and was put up at the swankiest suite in the prestigious J W Marriott in Hong Kong. At a visit to Hong Kongs new attraction Avenue of Stars located on the waterfront of Tsim Sha Tsui, Akshay was captivated by the pavement plaques commemorating Hong Kong movie personalities past and present and milestone features outlining the local film industrys 100-year history. Akshay also spent considerable time exploring Madame Tussauds where sight of the wax idol of Bruce Lee, Akshays self-proclaimed mentor stirred many emotions in the martial arts expert. Before his meeting, Akshay and family spent two days sampling the delights of Hong Kong. While his one year old son freaked out at the popular amusement park Ocean Park, Twinkle and Akshay hit the islands, Lantau and Macau and spent their free time shopping in designer malls in Harbour City. D Day arrived on 16th May when Akshay met Chan in his office where Jackie played the gracious host. Chan personally gave our hero a guided tour of his office and even showed him exclusive footage of his new film. After that the duo settled down for an hour long chat. While Akshay was eager to shoot in Hong Kong, Chan was looking forward to his first trip to India. Yes, Im all set to come to India soon to shoot for a film, informed Jackie. Obviously, in the near future the possibility of the two cultures ( Hong Kong and India) coming together for a film cannot be ruled out. For all you know, Indias Jackie Chan might soon work with the original one!
