Considering that the recent release M.S. Dhoni – The Untold Story is an amalgamation of Bollywood and India’s most loved sport, cricket, the opening of the Sushant Singh Rajput starrer fared well. Followed by that, the biopic also managed to cross a couple of milestones owing to the popularity Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
Though its pace has slowed down compared to past weeks, M.S. Dhoni – The Untold Story grossed 200 crore worldwide last week. The film has managed to collect Rs. 128.36 crores NETT at the domestic box office at the close of Day 19 translating into gross collections of Rs. 178 crores. The movie has grossed Rs. 30 crores overseas that makes the worldwide collection of the film at Rs. 208 crores gross.
While M.S. Dhoni has managed to climb up the ladder in terms of its collections after competing with several other films this year, it hasn’t managed to surpass the worldwide collections of the Akshay Kumar starrer Rustom [215 crores] and if the slow pace persists, it is highly unlikely that the film may be able to do so.
