Star performances at various award functions have become common practice. Now joining the bandwagon is Ranbir Kapoor. However, the said performance for the 19th Annual Colors Screen Awards will feature the actor grooving alongside his mother Neetu Kapoor.
The two represent the Kapoor family’s film legacy that spans eight decades. While Ranbir will perform a medley picturised on various actors from the Kapoor clan, including grandfather Raj Kapoor and grand-uncle Shammi Kapoor, Neetu will join him for the track ‘Parda Hai Parda‘ from Amar Akbar Anthony. Incidentally, the original song was shot with her and Ranbir’s father Rishi Kapoor.
While his performance will be the key attraction of the evening, the function will also feature several other acts by other prominent film industry members. Shah Rukh Khan and his filmmaker friend Karan Johar will be the key hosts joined by Deepika Padukone, Ayushmann Khurana and Vidya Balan. Apart from them, Ranveer Singh will also feature as one of the main performers.
The awards function which is scheduled to be held on January 12 in Mumbai will also mark the centenary of the Indian cinema.
