One of the prime reasons why OUT OF CONTROL suffered at the box-office was because the publicity/promotion of the film projected it to be a 'sexy' film, with skin show in abundance. Though the film revolved around a married man and the two women in his life, a majority of moviegoers stayed away from cinema halls screening the film because they felt that they'd feel uncomfortable watching the film with their families, thanks to the generous dose of skin show [the skimpily clad BAYWATCH babe]. AB BAS! is going through a similar situation, with the family audiences staying away from the film, thanks to the promos/posters which have Diana in a 'bindaas' pose. To undo the harm caused by the promos, producer Raju Mavani and the lead cast of AB BAS! [Diana, Shawar] visited cinema halls in Kolkata on Saturday [November 27] and asked the ladies/family audiences to watch the film since the story primarily deals with the husband-wife issue. They even addressed a press conference, visited cinema halls and performed on one of the tracks from the film at a discotheque. In Mumbai, producer Raju Mavani is following a different strategy: He distributed free tickets to women at Minerva [Grant Road, Mumbai] on Monday and Tuesday [3 p.m. shows only]. We want them [ladies] to patronize the film. It's not a sex-based film; it talks about a woman's fight against injustice, he clarifies. Will the box-office revenue of AB BAS! show a jump, let's wait and watch!
