Film on Shivaji to be shot in 18 hours flat

Nana Patekar and Mehul Kumar were a strong team in the last decade with hits like Tirangaa and Krantiveer to their credit (apart from the less successful Kohram). The director-actor combo is all set to join hands once again for a big biographical historical project revolving around the life and times of the renowned Maratha king Shivaji. Nana Patekar will be playing Shivaji in the film. The film will be shot in and around Kolhapur and shooting will begin from February 2004. (Incidentally, earlier this year, director Rajkumar Santoshi was toying with the idea of making a film on Shivaji but it never materialized). And that’s not all. Mehul Kumar has bigger (or one can say faster) plans for his film. He is planning to shoot the film in just 18 hours so that the film can make it to the Guinness Book of World Records. The film will be shot with 35 different cameras in 18 different units all functioning at the same time. The cast will have to undergo rehearsals for a week.
