Amol Palekar, the man associated with many meaningful films, will now be conferred the prestigious Vishnudas Bhave award on November 5 for his contribution to Marathi Theatre. This announcement was made by Sharad Karale, President- Akhil Bharatiya Natya Vidya Mandir Samiti.
Amol, who stepped into Marathi theatre with Satyadev Dubey's experimental theatre, went onto establish his own theater company named 'Aniket' in 1972. The said annual award was instituted 52 years ago by Akhil Bharatiya Natya Vidya Mandir to honour a personality from Marathi drama and film fraternity in lieu of his/ her outstanding contribution for the same.
