Since the past few weeks, weve been hearing about J.P. Dutta and his plans of starting UMRAO JAAN. Now heres the official announcement from the master film-maker himself. Writer-producer-director J.P. Dutta launched UMRAO JAAN on October 6 with a song recording. Tuned by Anu Malik and penned by Javed Akhtar, the first song was rendered by singers Richa Sharma and Anmol Malik [daughter of Anu Malik, who is giving playback for the first time]. However, Alka Yagnik will be the voice of Umrao Jaan. The final star cast of UMRAO JAAN is as follows: Aishwarya Rai, Abhishek Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, Suniel Shetty, Arshad Warsi, Divya Dutta, Himani Shivpuri, Puru Raaj Kumar and Kulbhushan Kharbanda. Scripted by J.P.s father O.P. Dutta, UMRAO JAAN will have choreography by Saroj Khan. Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla will design the costumes of this mammoth venture.
