Akshay Kumar & Twinkle Khanna got married in a secret ceremony on the 17th of January 2001 at 09:30 pm. The wedding took place at the boutique of designers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla in Hormuzd building in Juhu. It is a well known fact that Twinkle had accompanied Akshay on the cruise liner for the shooting of Ajnabi. Insiders say that their decision to tie the knot was taken on the liner. The ceremony was attended by only families and friends from both the sides and consisted of a simple mehndi ceremony followed by the pheras around the holy fire. Akshay wore a very Indian Chikan cream coloured Sherwani while Twinkle was in a red outfit. The couple has already left for Malaysia where Akshay is expected to shoot for Ek Rishta which co-stars Karisma Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan & Juhi Chawla in lead roles. According to insiders, the reception will be held in February last week.
