The third installment in the hit Housefull franchise, titled Housefull 3, hit screens last week on Friday. The film directed by Sajid - Farhad despite rather low key reviews has managed to not just find takers among the audience but has become one of the biggest money spinners of this year.
In this box office report we take a look at the overseas collections of the Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Jacqueline Fernandez, Lisa Haydon and Nargis Fakhri starrer Housefull 3. Interestingly, the film that has managed to continue its stupendous run in the overseas markets has been raking in the moolah. In fact at the end of Week 1, Housefull 3 has collected approx. 5.1 mil. USD [Rs. 34.08 crores] from the overseas territories, with the best figures being recorded from the UAE/GCC territories.
Apart from this, the film has also become the second highest opening Week grosser of 2016 in overseas markets after the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Fan which collected approx. 7.73 mil. USD in the same period.
With collections of approximately 5.1 mil. USD, Housefull 3 seems all set to surpass the previous release Welcome Back which had done a lifetime business of 5.2 mil. USD in the overseas. While on the other hand, when compared to Akshay Kumar starrers that have previously released, Housefull 3 has already overtaken the lifetime business of Akshay's earlier releases Gabbar is Back, Brothers and Singh is Bliing.
