Happy Bhag Jayegi is the only new notable release of the week. With Rustom and Mohenjo Daro as the two biggie release of the Friday gone by, there was no other major film that decided to arrive in the subsequent week since hardly any screens would have been made available. However, the clout that Eros enjoys allowed it to book a reasonable number of screens, despite the competition. The decision has worked in its favor at least at the release stage since many screens are now being made available due toMohenjo Daro not managing to hold on to its position.
This now allows Happy Bhag Jayegi a better breathing space. That said, there is still massive challenge ahead since Rustom is going great guns and that means it would most definitely have a much bigger weekend than Happy Bhag Jayegi. Still, the film - a production of Aanand L. Rai and Eros - has a good chance to grow on the basis of word of mouth. The promo gives an impression of a frothy light hearted entertainer in the offering and that could pull in audience.
However, for that the first need is for the film to show some kind of an occupancy which facilitates word of mouth. Though one doesn't see the Mudassar Aziz directed film take a rollicking start on Friday, the coming in of family crowds on Saturday and Sunday could do the trick for this small budget film. One waits to see if this indeed turns out to be the case for Happy Bhag Jayegi which is also notable for the comeback of Diana Penty on the big screen, four years after Cocktail [2012].
