Akshay Kumar's Rustom is now collecting on a different level altogether. What started off as a positive outing turned into a dream journey for the entertainer. However, after a rocking weekend, the film has now come on its own and even creating and breaking records. With Rs. 6.38 crore more coming in, the film has now accumulated Rs. 82.28 crore already. In the process, it has managed to go past the lifetime collections of three Superhit films of 2016:
Baaghi - Rs. 77 crore
Neerja - Rs. 75.65 crore
Kapoor & Sons - Rs. 73.3 crore
In fact the film would also go past the lifetime collections of Fan [Rs. 85 crore] today and there is a very definite chance of Rs. 90 crore being touched by end of day. There is Rakhi holiday in some parts of the country today and this would help the film gain at least as much as yesterday, with a possibility of Tuesday collections [Rs. 7.67 crore] being matched as well.
The manner in which the film is performing, one can't really pin point on the exact number that it would eventually hit. That said, it is a given that Raja Krishna Menon's Airlift [Rs. 129 crore] - Akshay Kumar's second highest grosser ever (after Rowdy Rathore) - would certainly be challenged by this Tinu Suresh Desai film. Incidentally, both these directors are new in the industry and have managed to strike gold with their first every big budget film with Akshay Kumar as the common element.
