As expected, it was Dishoom that stayed on to be the first Bollywood choice amongst cinegoers. The film saw a good hold on its second Friday and then saw jumps over the rest of the weekend to bring in Rs. 10.05 crore more. With this, the overall collections so far are around Rs. 63.39 crore. That has further ensures that the lifetime total of the Rohit Dhawan directed film would go past the Rs. 70 crore mark. Everyone associated with the film too has a lot to look forward to in months to come. John Abraham is gearing up for Force 2, Varun Dhawan is getting ready to start Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya and Jacqueline Fernandez has A Flying Jatt coming up. Sajid Nadiadwala‘s next biggie is Rangoon and Eros is on a positive footing with Baar Baar Dekho.
Other releases of the week couldn’t do much. The Legend of Michael Mishra, Budhia Singh – Born to Run, Fever and Hai Apna Dil Toh Awara didn’t have much going for them. Amongst these, only Budhia Singh – Born to Run had some sort of collections but that’s about it.
The only other film to bring in some sort of numbers was Hollywood release Suicide Squad that managed to cross the Rs. 10 crore* mark. As for Jason Bourne, it has surprisingly turned out to be a flop show.
*Estimates. Final numbers awaited
