Frightening Collections Of Scary Movies!

While Mira Nair's English film VANITY FAIR has opened to mixed reviews in U.S.A., the two eerie flicks in Hindi - RAKHT and HUM KAUN HAI? - have taken a beating in U.K. The opening weekend collections of the two scary movies are simply appalling!

U.K. BOX-OFFICE

  • RAKHT has debuted at No. 29 position in its opening weekend. The film has collected £ 13,558 on 8 screens [approx. Rs. 11.15 lacs], with the per screen average working out to £ 1,695. Poor!


  • HUM KAUN HAI? has debuted at No. 41 position in its opening weekend. The film has collected £ 2,511 on 7 screens [approx. Rs. 2 lacs], with the per screen average working out to £ 359. Disaster!


  • DHOOM [last weekend: No. 18, this weekend: No. 20] registers a drop. In its second weekend, the film has collected £ 31,070 on 22 screens, with the per screen average working out to £ 1,412. The total so far has been £ 143,384 [approx. Rs. 1.18 crores].


  • PHIR MILENGE [last weekend: No. 20, this weekend: No. 24] is also on a declining spree. In its second weekend, the film has collected £ 19,363 on 20 screens, with the per screen average working out to £ 968. The total so far has been £ 92,379 [approx. Rs. 76.02 lacs].


  • FIDA [last weekend: No. 26, this weekend: No. 32] grows weaker. In its third weekend, the film has collected £ 8,647 on 13 screens, with the per screen average working out to £ 665. The total so far has been £ 122,446 [approx. Rs. 1 crore].


  • MUJHSE SHAADI KAROGI [last weekend: No. 29, this weekend: No. 36] has overtaken HUM TUM. In its sixth weekend, the film has collected £ 5,234 on 7 screens, with the per screen average working out to £ 748. The total so far has been £ 646,250 [approx. Rs. 5.30 crores].


  • KYUN! HO GAYA NA… [last weekend: No. 27, this weekend: No. 39] is dull. In its fourth weekend, the film has collected £ 3,493 on 8 screens, with the per screen average working out to £ 437. The total so far has been £ 252,612 [approx. Rs. 2.07 crores].


  • HUM TUM [last weekend: No. 56, this weekend: No. 61] is limited to one screen. In its fifteenth weekend, the film has collected £ 197 on 1 screen. The total so far has been £ 645,543 [approx. Rs. 5.30 crores].


U.S.A. BOX-OFFICE

Weekend: September 3 - 6, 2004 [4-day Labor Day Weekend].

  • DHOOM [last weekend: No. 42, this weekend: No. 54] is on a decline. In its second weekend, the film has collected $ 76,634 on 29 screens, with the per screen average working out to $ 2,643. The total so far has been $ 203,748 [approx. Rs. 94.47 lacs].


  • PHIR MILENGE [last weekend: No. 62, this weekend: No. 67] remains on the lower side. In its second weekend, the film has collected $ 32,767 on 22 screens, with the per screen average working out to $ 1,489. The total so far has been $ 81,137 [approx. Rs. 37.62 lacs].
