Satish Kaushik ties up with weight loss program Co.:

Music giant Saregama is getting into film production in a big way. To start with, the music company is not starting one, two or three, but six films this year and in the next three years, the company plans to produce as many as 20 films in various languages. Unbelievable, but true!

Confirming the development, Harish Dayani [CEO of Saregama Films Ltd.] tells me that they’ve already started a joint venture in collaboration with Mukesh Bhatt. Starring Farhan Hashmi and Tara Sharma, the film is being directed by Anurag Basu [SAAYA].

Saregama has also signed E. Niwas and Ken Ghosh for two separate projects, while Javed Akhtar is writing the story, screenplay, dialogues and lyrics of a love story, which will roll in October this year.

“We are planning to explore different genres in various languages. These would be joint ventures with Indian makers as well as foreign companies,” Dayani divulges. The strategy of starting so many films at a go is sure to increase the confidence-level of investors in the film industry.
