Namrata & Yukta mobbed:

It was a regular shooting schedule for Shrey Shrivastavas Bandhak, a film inspired from a real-life rape incident of an IAS officers family. The scorching sun shone at the schedule as the films unit progressed to shoot the climax with its stars Namrata Shirodkar, Yukta Mookhey, Dino Morea and Sanjay Suri at a location near the Mira Road highway in Mumbai. As the director progressed calling the shots, some spectators gathered around; something which is quite normal at any outdoor film shoot. At that time none had imagined about what finally took place. In no time the bunch of spectators became groups, and soon the groups became a crowd with many hooters, eve-teasers and star-struck ones part of it. The situation suddenly went beyond control, as the units limited staff struggled to keep the crowd from intruding. But then a crowd is a crowd. And our heroines Namrata and Yukta got the shock of their lives when it gheraoed them and started pushing the unit members, becoming nastier every moment. Feeling extremely insecure, both the girls ran and got into Dinos make-up van, but the crowd just wouldnt understand. It soon circled the van and started pushing and banging on it from outside and almost rocking it. Things were completely going out of control when Dino realized that its not the shooting the crowd is interested in, but the celebs attention. Keeping his presence of mind, he pushed himself into the crowd and started talking to the people, shaking hands with some and being very accessible. To the units surprise, this did the trick. Dino had cleverly diverted the crowds attention and by now theyd started demanding that Dino sing a song from Raaz for them. By then, another bulb glowed in Dinos mind. He said, he cant sing without a mike as everyone had got to hear him and walked to a corner, got hold of a production mike and started singing, Yeh Shahar hai aman ka yahan ki fiza hai nirali yahan pe sab shanti shanti hai and many got the message. The unruly crowd seemed controlled after a while. In fact, some people also came up to him and the director and said sorry for their behaviour. Later, when Namrata and Yukta finally came out of the van after an hour-and-a-half, the crowd was rejoicing with Dino. The heroines gave some autographs, although shell-shocked at the change in the crowds attitude, before the shooting was peacefully resumed. If not for Dino, cant say what would have happened that day. Members of the films unit (and of course, Namrata and Yukta) have been grateful to him ever since.
