ST: I love the flea markets. I don't feel like I need to buy a Louis Vuitton purse to feel good about myself. It's a complete waste of money. I'd rather spend that money in travelling.
DP: Next comes travelling.
ST: Yes, it does. In fact, I'm doing a travel show where I'm going to Latvia and Estonia. I've also done a show in the US called the 'Culture Show'. I've been writing for Elle, Cosmopolitan and Femina as a single girl travelling alone.
DP: Sounds like you've travelled the world over. Which has been your favourite destination?
ST: I can't pick one place. But I love New Zealand for its outdoors. The scenic beauty keeps on changing as you drive from the North Island to the South Island. I love Rome. I think it's the most romantic place to be in. If it's a single girl travelling after her break up, I'd recommend going to Italy. The food, the beautiful looking men and the language is so romantic. I love Paris too. New York is one of my favourite cities in the world to live. If it's a short trip, say about four to five days, I'd go to Thailand. The beaches there are great.
DP: How's your love interest in Radio, Himesh doing?
ST: He is absolutely fine. He is a very sweet guy. Radio is a love story. I play a girl who is half Parsi and half Punjabi from a crazy family. I'm a girl who gets different kinds of job. One day I'm playing a clown, the next day I'm delivering flowers, the third, I'm working at the petrol pump, etc. Himesh plays a very famous radio jockey who meets me and turns me into an RJ too. It's a love story between us.
DP: God help you both!
ST: (laughs) Why? Tell me something, what is your perception of me?
DP: You are too chilled out babe! You go with the flow and I'd rather see you replace any of the boys in Dil Chahta Hai.
ST: Thank you. But I can do any film. I am an actress and acting is a serious business. You need to be smart to be a good actor. There is a lot of taking and giving in this profession. -

The next time I date Shenaz, I'll be wearing my scuba diving suit and hopefully, keeping my fingers crossed, I'd be looking deadlier than the sharks. That's how she fancies her man... a bit of an adventurer. In this second part of 'On a Date with Shenaz Treasurywala', UK's Harrow Observer columnist and Bollywood Hungama's London correspondent Devansh Patel gets into a fultoo Gujarati mood and talks 'khakhras' and 'laddoos', talk which ranged from 'Latvia to Estonia to Louis Vuitton', Dil Chahta Hai to Delhi Belly and from Himesh to Johnny Depp. Sitting with this pretty Punjabi and Parsi chic, you just can't help but sing, "There's somethin' wrong with the world today, I don't know what it is...something's wrong with our eyes... We're seeing things in a different way...And God knows it ain't His...It sure ain't no surprise...We're livin' on the edge"
DP: Are you a good cook?
ST: I'm not a sorted cook but I don't hate cooking. I don't like cooking everyday just for myself. If I'm alone, I'll never cook.
DP: But what if your man comes tired from work. What would you cook for him?
ST: 'Dates' and 'Walnuts' are good to feed a man they say (laughs). Actually, I make really good fish. I also make really good salad.
DP: You're right!
ST: Yes I am. It's not that easy to make salads that people think it is. I somehow loved to cook when I was abroad. Getting lovely fresh vegetables from the farmers market and putting them together, going grocery shopping, etc. I miss it now. -
DP: Yes, I don’t have my doubts on that. Now, who is your favourite Hollywood actor? ST: Johnny Depp. He can play any role. Joaquin Phoenix is good too. But I heard that he has quit acting. DP: And from the new breed?
ST: Imran Khan. He is so sweet.
ST: Why don't you have some boondi ke laddoo?
DP: From 'dates' to 'walnuts' to 'laddoo'. Wow!
ST: See, I can't have them because I've got high sugar levels. I am not diabetic.
DP: You love being alone, don't you?
ST: Yes. I love it. I'm a loner. I am not a kind of person who needs to be around people all the time. Are you?
DP: I love it too.
ST: That's the reason I moved out of my parents house. It's a lovely old Parsi house.
DP: I want to take your honest opinion on something.
ST: Feel free to ask. -

I mean, is it a good way to talk much more than just films?
ST: Of course it is. I think it is a good welcome relief from the cliché questions asked to us a million times.
ST: Plus, you are a Gujarati right?
DP: Yes. I am. And you question is?
ST: Gujarati's are supposed to be vegetarian food. So tell me, "Tu khakhra khae che?" (Do you eat khakhras?)
DP: Yes. Sawar sawar na cha jode (I have it with tea in the morning)
ST: Very good (laughs). I somehow like Gujaratis. Himesh is one too and he is sweet. My best friends are Gujaratis. But they add sugar in everything they eat.
DP: You're right girl. Tell me, which is the best book you've read?
ST: 'Eat, Pray, Love' It's a book which I identify with. It's written by an elderly lady who travels around the three 'I's' - India, Indonesia and Italy, and is looking to fulfil her soul. She goes to Italy and it's all about the food, the language, etc. She comes to India and it's all about spirituality, etc and she lands up in Indonesia where she finds her love.
DP: How would you describe a perfect 'Date'?
ST: I don't like the cliché candle lit dinners. I'd love to go bungee jumping, sky diving or deep sea diving. I have that adrenalin hunger to do things.
DP: Well, the next time I see you, you'll find me in my wet suit. How about that?
ST: (laughs) Yes. I love it when I'm on the edge.
