After much talk and promotion today we finally see the release of the Ishaan Khatter – Janhvi Kapoor starrer DHADAK. Produced by Karan Johar the film is a remake of the critically acclaimed hit Marathi film SAIRAT. But will the Hindi remake of the gritty Marathi film work at the box office, or will the magic of the previous release SANJU overshadow the new release is the question of the hour.
Reports state that DHADAK has opened on a steady note with occupancy rate during morning shows being pegged at 30%. Released across 2235 screens in the domestic market DHADAK that has received fairly positive reviews is expected to fare well at the box office. In fact, advance predictions state that the film is more than likely to rake in anything between Rs. 6-7 cr on its opening day. As for the previous release SANJU, the Ranbir Kapoor starrer that released a while back seems to now be relegated to the audiences’ second choice at cinemas. In fact, while SANJU will still continue to run predictions state that the business of the film will see a sharp decline as compared to earlier weekends.
On the whole, though SANJU still continues to run, the film which has seen a decrease in patronage will still managed to pull in a few viewers. But on the other hand DHADAK that has received positive reviews and good word of mouth looks set to enjoy a stellar opening weekend.
