Not surprisingly, Fan has taken the top slot becoming the Highest Opening Weekend grosser of the year collecting Rs. 52.35 cr. In fact the film has managed to surpass previous releases like the Akshay Kumar starrer Airlift that collected Rs. 44.3 cr, the Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra, Rishi Kapoor and Fawad Khan multi starrer Kapoor & Sons that collected Rs. 26.35 cr, the Arjun Kapoor- Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer Ki & Ka that collected Rs. 25.23 cr and the Sunny Deol starrer Ghayal Once Again that collected Rs. 23.25 cr.
