Diana Penty's Happy Bhag Jayegi has done fair business and that too on the basis of word of mouth that came in from the audience who caught it over the weekend. The film did well during the weekdays, albeit on the lower side, while managing to give some confidence to the exhibitors that it can collect some moolah in the second week as well. The partial holiday of Janamashtmi helped the film on Wednesday as well as Thursday, as a result of which the Week One total stands at 17.65 crore.
These numbers are on the same lines as what (similarly genre) Sonam Kapoor's Khoobsurat [19 crore] and Dolly Ki Doli [19.17 crore] had enjoyed. Latter had in fact benefitted from a big holiday [Republic Day], though it was negated to some extent by Akshay Kumar's Baby which was running alongside. Ironically, this time around too (similarly genre) Rustom was running alongside Happy Bhag Jayegi, so it all evens out eventually.
