Balaji wins court case of The Dirty Picture title

Post the phenomenal success of Balaji Motion Pictures' The Dirty Picture which starred Vidya Balan as Silk, a south based production house Akshaya Productions tried to cash in on the popularity of the film by announcing a Kannada film called Dirty Picture- Silk Sakath Hot Maga.

Needless to say when Ekta Kapoor came to know of this, she immediately took legal action against Akshaya Productions dragging them to court. In a landmark order, Balaji has now won the case in the Court which stated that the title was strictly Balaji's property and Akshaya Productions couldn't use any title remotely similar to The Dirty Picture.
