UP government withdraws cases against Sanjay Dutt

Today, the UP government has decided to withdraw the cases slapped by the previous Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) government against Sanjay Dutt. The reason behind the case was due to the comments the actor had allegedly made comments against former CM Mayawati. The said decision was taken by the Home Department, after a recommendation by the Law department.

Readers may recall that the previous Mayawati-led government had slapped as many 3 cases in all against the actor in 2009. The cases that were filed at Barabanki, Mau and Pratapgarh, against Dutt for his alleged comments in a gathering at Pratapgarh that he would like to give a 'jaadu ki jhappi' to then CM Mayawati.
