It’s a 50 for Raja Shivaji! The film has scored a half century in just 6 days and is also the quickest one amongst Marathi cinema to achieve this feat. Of course, the collections include Hindi dubbed version as well but still, overall these are fabulous numbers for a film which has a very localised appeal to it. Unlike Tanhaji and Chhaava, which were basically Hindi films that were spearheaded by a major star and had a Pan-India presentation, Raja Shivaji stayed honest to its local audience and what came from all-India was added bonus.

That said, it must be added that Riteish Deshmukh and Jio Studios very smartly added a mix of Bollywood and Marathi starcast to the film in order to ensure that neither local nor Pan-India audience felt alienated. So, while there were Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan, Vidya Balan and Genelia Deshmukh on one end, there were popular names like Amol Gupte, Jitendra Joshi and Mahesh Manjrekar on the other.
Coming to the collections, Wednesday saw Rs. 4.70 crores being added to the total, which is a marginal drop from Tuesday collections of Rs. 5.40 crores. As result the film now stands at Rs. 53.30 crores, which is a superb number with one more day still left before the first week comes to a close. There is no major release this weekend which means Raja Shivaji will continue to gather good footfalls.
