The Luv Ranjan directed film Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety released yesterday. Starring Kartik Aaryan, Nushrat Bharucha and Sunny Singh the film which hit a total of 1925 screens worldwide (Domestic 1650 + Overseas 275) has opened on a good note. In fact, with positive reviews propelling the film’s box office collection further Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety has in fact managed to beat the Sidharth Malhotra – Manoj Bajpayee starrer Aiyaary to become the third highest opening day grosser of 2018.
In this box office report we take a look at the opening day collections of Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety while comparing the same to previous releases of 2018. Collecting Rs. 6.42 cr, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety has far surpassed the collections of the Neeraj Pandey directed film Aiyaary that had collected just Rs. 3.36 cr on its opening day. However, the business of the film on Day 1 does not manage to surpass the opening day collections of previous release like the Sajay Leela Bhansali directed film Padmaavat that had collected Rs. 19 cr and the Akshay Kumar starrer Pad Man that had collected Rs. 10.26 cr.
As of now, with positive reviews and good audience feedback the business of Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety is expected to grow over the weekend. If that wasn’t enough, given the fact that most previous releases are now relegated to a few shows daily, and the fact that the new release Welcome To New York seems to be struggling to find takers at the box office, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety is expected to dominate the weekend box office.
