After the super success of his debut film Student Of The Year, Varun Dhawan's second Bollywood venture, Main Tera Hero released smack in the middle of the T20 series. In this Box Office analysis we take a look at the business of the film as well as compare it to the other films released by Balaji in the first quarter of 2014.
Surprisingly, despite the hype surrounding Varun's Main Tera Hero (MTH), the film's business failed to eclipse the collections posted by the earlier Balaji release Ragini MMS 2 that featured Sunny Leone. On the hand MTH did considerably better than the Farhan Akhtar - Vidya Balan starrer Shaadi Ke Side Effects.
However considering the fact that MTH released during the peak of the T20 World Cup series, the film did well collecting Rs. 6.60 crores on Opening Day and Rs. 22.73 crores over the Opening Weekend.
