As financial institutions and marketing personnel dive into the throes of the year ending account closing, we at Bollywood Hungama decided to take a look at the first quarter of 2014 and the box office performance of the films that released.
In this report, we analyze the highest grossing films in categories like, Highest Opening Week Grosser, Highest Grosser in Overseas Territories (US, UK, NZ, UAE/GCC etc).
Interestingly, it is the Salman Khan film Jai Ho that ranks first as the Highest Opening Week Grosser collecting Rs. 88.78 crores, while the Ranveer Singh - Arjun Kapoor starrer Gunday comes in second collecting Rs. 63.08 crores.
On the other hand, the Sunny Leone starrer Ragini MMS 2 becomes the Highest Grosser (A certificate) (India) collecting Rs. 39.38 crores. However, the international circuit is dominated by the Salman starrer Jai Ho that tops the Highest Grosser charts for the US, UK, UAE/GCC, NZ and Australia.
