Box Office: Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania becomes 7th highest opening weekend grosser of 2014

The Varun Dhawan-Alia Bhatt starrer Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania that released last Friday opened to a decent start. With both actors, Varun and Alia, going all guns blazing with promotions, the film gradually gathered steam.


In this box office report, we take a look at the Opening Weekend collection of the film as compared to other releases of 2014. The film has taken the seventh spot collecting Rs. 33.74 crores. However, the film fails to beat the previous releases like 2 States that collected Rs. 38.06 crores, Humshakals that collected Rs. 40.13 crores, Holiday with Rs. 41.32 crores and Gunday that collected Rs. 43.93 crores in their respective opening weekends.


However, the film ranks higher than Varun's previous release Main Tera Hero that managed to collect Rs. 22.73 crores.
