Drishyam The Conclusion has made such a powerful start at the box office that it is already within touching distance of surpassing the lifetime business of Drishyam 2. According to latest box office data, Drishyam 2 ended its theatrical run with an impressive Rs. 240.54 crore. The third film has already collected Rs. 174 crore in its opening weekend, leaving it just Rs. 66.54 crore short of the second instalment’s lifetime total.
Considering the pace at which Drishyam The Conclusion has started, that gap could disappear remarkably quickly. The Ajay Devgn starrer opened with Rs. 62.03 crore on Friday. Saturday saw the film collect Rs. 50.95 crore, while Sunday brought in another Rs. 60 crore. The three-day total now stands at Rs. 174 crore.
What makes the comparison even more striking is that Drishyam 2 needed its entire theatrical run to reach Rs. 240.54 crore, whereas Drishyam The Conclusion has already covered more than 72 per cent of that figure in its first weekend alone.
The performance also underlines the extraordinary growth of the franchise. The original Drishyam finished at Rs. 67.13 crore, while Drishyam 2 more than tripled that figure to reach Rs. 240.54 crore. Now, the third film has raced to Rs. 174 crore in just three days.
The next target is therefore clearly visible. Drishyam The Conclusion needs another Rs. 66.54 crore to move past Drishyam 2 and become the highest-grossing film in the franchise.
Given the film’s opening weekend, that milestone now appears less like a distant target and more like the next major box office checkpoint for Ajay Devgn and the Drishyam franchise.
