The much talked about and heavily promoted film Housefull 4 hit screens yesterday. Featuring an all-star cast led by Akshay Kumar trade expectations for the fourth instalment in the Housefull franchise were at an all-time high. But has the film, whose advance booking opened on Sunday lived up to expectations is the question.
In this box office report we take a look at the opening day collections of Housefull 4 while comparing the same to Akshay Kumar’s previous releases. Collecting Rs. 19.08 cr, Housefull 4 has managed to become Akshay Kumar’s fifth highest opening day grossers till date. Though leading the list of Akshay Kumar’s highest opening day grossers are his previous releases like Mission Mangal that collected Rs. 29.16 cr, Gold that collected Rs. 25.25 cr, Kesari that collected Rs. 21.06 cr, and Singh is Bliing that collected Rs. 20.67 cr. However, the collections of Housefull 4 do manage to surpass the business of the actor’s other releases like Housefull 3 that collected Rs. 15.21 cr, Brothers that collected Rs. 15.2 cr, Rowdy Rathore that collected Rs. 15.10 cr, Boss that collected Rs. 14.5 cr, and Rustom that had collected Rs. 14.11 cr.
As of now, Housefull 4 has received mixed reviews, but despite this thanks to the festive season of Diwali the business of the film is expected to see immense growth. In fact, with Monday and Tuesday being a holiday, expectations are that the collections of Housefull 4 might just manage to cross the Rs. 100 cr mark.
