Yet another huge landmark has been reached by Mohit Suri and YRF’s Saiyaara. The film has now entered the Rs. 300 Crore Club and that too in style. It has managed to do that in just its third weekend and though it could well have done that inside its second week, arrival of Mahavatar Narsimha out of nowhere meant that it had to wait for it a bit longer.
That said, none of that really matters when it comes to the final tally because just about no one in the whole wide world could have ever imagined that a feat like this was possible. Leave aside Rs. 300 crores, even Rs. 100 crores didn’t seem like on the cards till the film actually released. In fact, even a Rs. 50 crores lifetime would have been considered as good enough for this all-newcomer film starring Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda.
However, destiny had different plans for all involved with the film and now it stands at a massive Rs. 305.50 crores. There are 10 more days ahead of it to keep bringing in moolah before YRF’s own War 2 arrives and then takes over majority of screens and shows. Still, that would leave ample space for the musical drama to make its case for a lifetime around Rs. 330-340 crores, which will be simply out of this world.
