The Akshay Kumar starrer Kesari that hit screens last week on Thursday opened on a slow note on account of Holi. However, the business of the film that hit 3600 screens saw a jump in collections over evening and night shows. In fact, the box office collections of Kesari on its opening day saw Rs. 21.06 cr coming in making it the highest opening day grosser of 2019.

As of now, though Kesari holds strong at the box office, trade experts state that the ongoing IPL season has in fact impacted the overall opening weekend collections of the film. However, with strong word of mouth expectations are that the business of Kesari will continue to see growth on weekdays as well.
