The Vivek Agnihotri directed film The Kashmir Files released two weeks ago and since then it has been unstoppable at the box office. In fact, in its second week the film featuring Anupam Kher, faced competition from the new release in the form of the Akshay Kumar starrer Bachchhan Paandey. However, despite this, The Kashmir Files managed to maintain its momentum at the box office. Now at the close of its second week in theatres, the total collections of the film are pegged at Rs. 207.33 cr.
In this box office report we take a look at the second week collections of The Kashmir Files while comparing the same to previous releases. Collecting Rs. 110.03 cr in its second week, The Kashmir Files has managed beat the Aamir Khan starrer PK that collected Rs. 95.78 cr, the Ranbir Kapoor starrer Sanju that collected 92.85 cr, and the Salman Khan starrer Bajrangi Bhaijaan that collected Rs. 87.63 cr. With this The Kashmir Files now ranks as the third all-time highest second week grosser.
Though preceded by previous releases like Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion that collected Rs. 143.25 cr and Dangal that collected Rs. 115.96 cr, The Kashmir Files has managed to outperform certain other releases as well like, Tiger Zinda Hai that collected Rs. 85.51 cr, Kabir Singh that collected Rs. 78.78 cr, and Tanhaji – The Unsung Warrior that collected Rs. 78.54 cr.
Currently, The Kashmir Files still continues to run in theatres, however with the SS Rajamouli directed mega release RRR hitting screens today, it remains to be seen whether the Anupam Kher film manages to sustain its momentum. Trade predicts that while RRR will take the lead at the box office, The Kashmir Files that will see a dip in collections will continue its box office run.
