The Ayan Mukherji directorial Brahmastra starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt hit screens last week on Friday. Said to be one of the biggest releases of recent times, the film came with immense hope, expectations, and hype. Released across over 9000 screens worldwide Brahmastra saw a good rate of advance bookings and opened on a better-than-expected note in both the domestic and international markets.
In this box office report, we look at the overseas collections of Brahmastra while breaking them based on the overseas territories. Not surprisingly, the overseas market of the U.S.A leads the charts as the highest grossing overseas market with USD 31,22,788 [Rs. 24.85 cr] coming in from 810 screens, following this is the market of Canada where Brahmastra raked in USD 12,40,907 [Rs. 9.88 cr] from 68 screens. Emerging as the third highest overseas grossing market is Australia where the film drew in A$ 9,03354 [Rs. 4.92 cr] from 114 screens followed by UK & Ireland where Brahmastra collected £ 4,77,780 [Rs. 4.42 cr] from 220 screens.
While these four markets made up for a major chunk of the film’s overseas collections, other territories too have been seeing above-average collections. New Zealand where the film collected NZ$ 2,04,290 [Rs. 99.92 lakhs] from 34 screens, Germany which saw collections of € 37,040 [Rs. 29.74 lakhs] from 46 screens, Malaysia which drew in MYR 1,00,813 [Rs. 17.84 lakhs] from 20 screens and Singapore which saw collections of S$ 28,695 [Rs. 16.34 lakhs] from 9 screens.
