The Ayan Mukherji directorial Brahmastra has been the talk of the town for a while now, with immense promotions and next-level anticipation the film was one of the most keenly awaited releases. Starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, Brahmastra hit screens last week on Friday to a thunderous response from the audience. After enjoying a good spate of advance bookings Brahmastra managed to draw in Rs. 36 cr on its opening day.
Following this, the business of the film continued to see growth on its first Saturday and Sunday, eventually crossing the Rs. 100 cr mark by the end of its third day running. Collecting Rs. 120.75 cr, Brahmastra has now become director Ayan Mukherji’s second film to cross the Rs. 100 cr mark. Following his previous release Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani which collected Rs. 188.57 cr, Brahmastra has managed this feat within just three days of its release, making it his fastest Rs. 100 cr grosser.
Going forward, Brahmastra which saw a release across over 5000 screens in India is expected to continue its dominance at the box office. With certain locations adding shows and screening the film round the clock, trade predicts that Brahmastra will see collections flowing in over its first week as well.
