The much talked about and keenly anticipated release Brahmastra starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt is finally hitting screens later this week on September 9. Directed by Ayan Mukherji the film, which has been in the making for a while now, has been making headlines in the run up to its release. If that was not enough, Brahmastra, which boasts of some high-octane visuals, has been one of the most anticipated releases of recent times. Adding to this, the film has been enjoying highly positive audience feedback for the trailers that have released.
In fact, in terms of business as well Brahmastra has been seeing an unprecedented rate of advance booking. As per reports, Brahmastra is estimated to sell over 1.5 lakhs tickets for its opening day alone across the three major national multiplex chains. As of Monday morning, Brahmastra has seen approx. 72,000 tickets sold, with PVR leading in sales with 39,000 tickets, INOX seeing 21,000 tickets sold while Cinepolis has seen 11,000 tickets being sold. Interestingly, non-national, single screens and 2D advance booking are yet to open. Given the current ticket sale trend, estimates state that the film could see over 1.5 lakh tickets being sold by Thursday night for the opening day.
Look back at previous releases of 2022, in terms of sales, Brahmastra is set to emerge as the leader, surpassing the Kartik Aaryan starrer Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 which had seen nearly 92,000 ticket sales for its opening day. If that wasn’t not all, the Ram Charan – Jr. NTR starrer RRR had seen approximately 1,05,000 tickets sold. In fact, the ticket sales Brahmastra has seen is nearly 1.5 times that of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.
Going by the advance booking reports, Brahmastra is set to see a double digit opening in the range of Rs. 20-25 cr.
