Wajah Tum Ho has seen a fair start at the Box Office with Rs. 2.86 crore coming in. Of course, considering the fact that the film released at 1995 screens, a start in the range of Rs. 4-5 crore would have been a much more comfortable number to begin with. However, it was always going to be a wait-and-watch affair, since the film hadn't really peaked in terms of hype and hence music along with the erotica element had to do the trick from the initial footfalls perspective.
If one takes that into consideration, a start of Rs. 2.86 crore is still fair enough, considering the fact that some of the recent much bigger films have taken even lesser opening in the recent times. Wajah Tum Ho has its fair chunk of audiences at the single screens and that is continuing to get impacted due to demonetization. Moreover, the film has come just a week before Dangal and that's one movie which is on the top of the list at A, B and C centres, and, that too, across single screens and multiplex 'junta'.
Now, moving on to the economics part of the film. The film has been made at a bare minimum cost of Rs. 13 crore (including P&A) with Rs. 10 crore already recovered through satellite, digital and music rights. That leaves only Rs. 3 crore to be recovered from the theatrical revenue, something that should happen over the weekend itself. From that perspective, the film should be in profits soon enough since the weekend should bring in around Rs. 10 crore. That said, given the fact that director Vishal Pandya's last release Hate Story 3 had collected Rs. 9.72 crore on its opening day itself last year at the same time, one expected better.
