The Shoojit Sircar directed film October released yesterday. Starring Varun Dhawan and Banita Sandhu the film hit a total of 1683 screens in the domestic marker. However despite the fact that the film enjoyed a somewhat solo release, and the fact that the previous films had almost faded, October took off on a rather sluggish note.
In this box office report we take a look at the opening day collections of Varun Dhawan’s October while comparing the same to previously released films of 2018. Collecting just Rs. 5.04 cr the business of October fails to surpass the business of the previously released film Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety that had collected Rs. 6.42 cr. However, the opening day collections of October manage to out beat other releases like Pari that collected Rs. 4.36 cr and Hichki that collected Rs. 3.36 cr.
As of now, with little to no competition form Bollywood releases October that has garnered critical acclaim will have to rely on very strong word of mouth and audience acceptance. But with a two week clear run at the box office the business of the film is expected to grow.
