The Ali Abbas Zafar directed film Tiger Zinda Hai that sees the director teaming up with Salman Khan after their successful venture Sultan released on Friday. The film which has been one of the most talked about and anticipated releases, opening to a thunderous start at the box office.
In this special report we take a look at the opening weekend collections of Tiger Zinda Hai while comparing the same to Salman Khan’s previous releases. Collecting Rs. 114.93 cr, Tiger Zinda Hai ranks as the actor’s second highest opening weekend grosser. While leading the list of Salman Khan’s highest opening weekend grossers is the actor’s previous release Sultan that collected Rs. 180.36 cr. Sultan however had a major advantage as it released on a holiday and moreover, it had a five-day weekend. If we consider just the first three day collections of Sultan [Rs. 105.53 cr], then it’s behind Tiger Zinda Hai.
Also, the collections of Tiger Zinda Hai do manage to surpass Salman Khan’s other releases like Prem Ratan Dhan Payo that collected Rs. 129.77 cr, Ek Tha Tiger that collected Rs. 100.16 cr, Bajrangi Bhaijaan that collected Rs. 102.6 cr, Bodyguard that collected Rs. 88.75 cr, Kick that collected Rs. 83.83 cr, and Dabangg 2 that collected Rs. 65 cr, Jai Ho that collected Rs. 60.68 cr, Dabangg that collected Rs. 48.50 cr and Ready that collected Rs. 40.65 cr.
