The big Christmas release, Tiger Zinda Hai, starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif is having a rocking run at the box office. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, it is the sequel to the 2012 blockbuster Ek Tha Tiger and has released across 4600 screens in the domestic market.

Collecting Rs. 114.93 cr, Tiger Zinda Hai has now become the second highest opening weekend grosser of 2017. Though the collections of the film did not manage to surpass the business of Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion, the business of Tiger Zinda Hai has outperformed other releases like Raees that collected Rs. 93.24 cr, Golmaal Again that collected Rs. 87.60 cr, Kaabil that collected Rs. 67.46 cr, Tubelight that collected Rs. 64.77 cr, Judwaa 2 that collected Rs. 59.25 cr, Toilet – Ek Prem Katha that collected Rs. 51.45 cr, Jolly LLB 2 that collected Rs. 50.46 cr, Jab Harry Met Sejal that collected Rs. 45.75 cr, Baadshaho that collected Rs. 43.3 cr, and Badrinath Ki Dulhania that collected Rs. 43.05 cr.
Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion was not an original Hindi film and in that regard, Tiger Zinda Hai has the highest opening weekend collections for a Bollywood film in 2017. It remains to now be seen if it manages to beat Golmaal Again and emerge as the top grossing Bollywood film of the year.
