The Ranveer Singh and Aditya Dhar film, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge has taken an extraordinary start at the box office in India. After a record-breaking collection in paid previews of Rs. 43 crores, the action packed entertainer has surpassed all expectations on the first day. As per very early trends, Dhurandhar 2 is looking to collect in the range of Rs. 80 crore to Rs. 82 crore, taking the total opening day collection to Rs. 125 crore.

The film is running to record capacities all across the board, and hence the actuals could come even higher as the makers have gone ahead with round-the-clock showcasing, and the footfalls are at an all-time high even for the unconventional show timings. This is the biggest opening day of all time for a feature film in the Hindi language, surpassing the previous two films of Shah Rukh Khan - Pathaan and Jawan - by a humongous margin. The Ranbir Kapoor-led Animal is not even in the race, as Dhurandhar has topped that by a 2.5x margin.
Ranveer Singh now holds the record of the biggest opening day in the history of Hindi Cinema, and can successfully be termed the box office king, as more records are coming his way in the days to come. The film is headed to record the biggest opening weekend and also the biggest lifetime of all time, and it's the first time that an actor will have the top 2 films of all time under his name in a span of just 3 months.
Not even the likes of Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan have managed to attain this feat. One must note that it's an industry practice to club day one with paid previews, and if we remove the paid preview figures, still the film has earned in the North of Rs. 75 crores, which is again an all-time record by a big margin.
