It was predicted that on Wednesday evening paid preview shows, Dhurandhar The Revenge will collect at least Rs. 35 crores and could well stretch towards Rs. 40 crores mark as well depending upon spot bookings. Well, the Aditya Dhar film has defied all predictions, what with the collections not just going past Rs. 40 crores mark at ease but covering a much greater distance with Rs. 43 crores coming in.
This is ultra-monumental because even when compares this with the entire first day of Bollywood biggies in last two years, it’s the biggest (or the second biggest) ever since Stree 2. The horror comedy had collected Rs. 55.40 crores on its opening day back in August 2024 and here Dhurandhar The Revenge is just below that in just half a day. Otherwise, it has crossed Border 2 (Rs. 32.10 crores), Chhaava (Rs. 33.10 courses), Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 (Rs. 36.60 crores) and even Singham Again (Rs. 43.70 crores) is being challenged, which have been the highest openers post Stree 2 when it comes to Bollywood releases.
Now one can well imagine how extended weekend right till Sunday would look like and while it’s a given that Rs. 400 crores would be reached, the Ranveer Singh starrer could well be aiming for the 500 Crore Club entry by Monday. Rest assured, Saturday and Sunday would hit a century each and that would set a new benchmark for the film industry.
