However, PK has failed to beat the records created by Aamir Khan's previous film Dhoom 3 which collected Rs. 107.61 crores over the weekend. On the other hand, PK has left behind some of the most popular films of Aamir Khan which includes Talaash with a collection of Rs. 47.10 crores and 3 Idiots that collected Rs. 40.65 crores.
For Anushka Sharma, PK becomes the highest Opening Weekend grosser, beating her earlier films like the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jab Tak Hai Jaan that collected Rs. 80.73 crores and Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola which collected Rs. 22.42 crores.
Similarly, PK has also left behind Rajkumar Hirani's previous directorial 3 Idiots.
