The Ali Abbas Zafar directed film Bharat finally hit screens after much hype and promotions. Starring Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Disha Patani and Sunil Grover the film opened on a high note with audience flocking theatres.
In this box office analysis we take a look at the opening day collections of Bharat while comparing the same to previous releases. Collecting Rs. 42.3 cr the Salman Khan starrer Bharat has managed to surpass the collections of the previously released film Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion that had collected Rs. 41 cr, to become the third all-time highest opening day grosser. Interestingly, though Bharat released across 4000 screens on Eid, the opening day business of the film does not manage to out beat the collections of previous releases like Thugs of Hindostan that had collected Rs. 52.25 cr and Happy New Year that had collected Rs. 44.97 cr.
On the other hand, the opening day collections of Bharat are better than a few other releases like Prem Ratan Dhan Payo that collected Rs. 40.35 cr, Sultan that collected Rs. 36.54 cr, Dhoom 3 that collected Rs. 36.22 cr, Sanju that collected Rs. 34.75 cr, Tiger Zinda Hai that collected Rs. 34.10 cr, Chennai Express that collected Rs. 33.12 cr, and Ek Tha Tiger that collected Rs. 32.93 cr.
As of now, Bharat that released on the festive occasion of Eid enjoys a massive screen count along with an extended five day weekend. Given these facts, expectations are that the business of Bharat will continue to see immense growth as the days progress. In fact, it will not come as a surprise if Bharat manages to cross the Rs. 100 cr mark in the next couple of days.
