The Ali Abbas Zafar directed film Bharat starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif finally released today. Also featuring Disha Patani and comedian Suniel Grover the film has been one of the most anticipated releases this year, and going by the hype surround it expectations stated that Bharat would take off on a high note at the box office.
Released across 6000+ screens worldwide (4700 domestic + 1300+ overseas) Bharat enjoys a wide spread release targeting metros, as well as mass sectors. If that wasn’t enough, being the sole Bollywood film hitting screens today, especially since previous releases are all but out of theatres, Bharat has the added advantage of being the audiences’ sole choice. This coupled with the fact that the Salman Khan starrer releases on the festive occasion of Eid, predictions state that Bharat like so many previous Salman starrer that have released on Eid, will open on a huge note. In fact, predictions state that Bharat could well see its opening day collections cross Rs. 35 cr. In this case, the film is set on its way to become the highest opening day grosser of 2019.
As for the business of the film, given the fact that the film released on Wednesday, Bharat enjoys a five day extended festive weekend which is sure to bolster its overall box office collections. As of now, all that remains to be seen is whether Bharat manages to cross the Rs. 100 cr. mark within the first few days.
