The Easter weekend is one of the best periods in Overseas, from the business point of view. But the new release, HUMKO DEEWANA KAR GAYE, has met with mixed reactions in this lucrative territory. This Akshay-Katrina love story has embarked on a terrific start in U.K., entering in the 'Top 10' charts in its opening weekend. But the film has failed to leave a mark in U.S.A., proving a non-starter here. In Australia too, the opening weekend figures are below the mark.

Meanwhile, Deepa Mehta's John-Abraham-Lisa Ray starrer WATER has embarked on a tremendous start in Australia. The film opens in U.S.A. next week [April 28].

U.K. BOX-OFFICE

HUMKO DEEWANA KAR GAYE has debuted at No. 10 position. In its opening weekend, the film has collected £ 174,934 [approx. Rs. 1.40 crores] on 38 screens, with the per screen average working out to £ 4,604.

SHAADI SE PEHLE [this weekend: No. 63]: In its second weekend, the film has collected $ 31,047 on 23 screens, with the per screen average working out to $ 1,350. Total: $ 106,129 [approx. Rs. 47.80 lacs].

NEW YORK CITY BOX-OFFICE

In its opening weekend, HUMKO DEEWANA KAR GAYE has debuted at No. 41 position. In its opening weekend, the film collected $ 4,421 on 1 screen.

MALAMAAL WEEKLY [last weekend: No. 47, this weekend: No. 54]: In its fifth weekend, the film has collected $ 1,550 on 1 screen. New York total: $ 24,730.

AUSTRALIA BOX-OFFICE

In its opening weekend [4-day weekend: April 13 - 16, 2006], HUMKO DEEWANA KAR GAYE has collected Australia $ 21,436 [approx. Rs. 7.13 lacs] on 6 screens, with the per screen average working out to $ 3,573.

WATER, which opened with paid previews in limited screens last week, had a proper release this weekend. In its 5-day weekend [April 13 - 17, 2006] WATER has collected Australia $ 179,057 on 16 screens, with the per screen average working out to $ 11,191. Total: Australia $ 278,482 [approx. Rs. 92.61 lacs].
