Business Booms!

By Bollywood Hungama

For the second time in a row, four Hindi films have featured in the 'Top 15' charts of U.K. this weekend, which clearly indicates that the business of Hindi films is flourishing in this part of the Overseas territory.

The new release, DUS, has crossed the coveted £ 100,000 mark in its first three days in U.K., making it the ninth film to achieve this distinction in 2005 [see chart below].

PAHELI may have fared way below expectations in India, but the film has crossed Rs. 9.25 crores in 17 days from just two markets [U.S.A., U.K.], which is fantastic. The recovery of investment of an SRK starrer in Overseas is faster than any of his contemporaries.

Another hit in the Overseas territory, PARINEETA, continues to withstand the influx of biggies week after week. The film has touched approx. Rs. 6.5 crores in 31 days from U.S.A. and U.K.

Weekend: July 8 - 10, 2005.
