EXCLUSIVE: Ranveer Singh defines India with one keyword; says, “Marketers are racking their brains to crack what does Young India want?”

Ranveer Singh, who recently wrapped up Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, added another feather to his cap. The actor was awarded at the IAA event for Brand Endorser of the Year and needless to say, he was thrilled to receive the honor. Being roped in for 41 brands, the actor is considered to hold the record of maximum celebrity endorsements currently and was speaking about his association with Indian advertising. During this exclusive conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Ranveer Singh revealed that there is only one keyword he can use to define India.

Speaking about it, Ranveer Singh said, “To define India, only one keyword comes to mind dynamism. I think we are a very dynamic country - statistically the youngest in the world. Our youth culture is just pulsating and bubbling with restless energy. With the advent of social media, it's almost like the access to the entire globe and everything that's happening around is in the palm of their hands. I feel like the youth of our country is placed at a time in history, where they will be able to achieve the unprecedented, also at a rate more rapid than their predecessors.”

 

 

He went on to add, “I make it a point to interact with kids who are 16-19. I play basketball with them. They are a completely different breed of people. The way they think, the amount they know about everything and every time I'm with them, my mind is blown. It's almost like they are 40-50 year olds with life experience and know, how everything that's happening in the world at that age due to the access to information. They've been born into the age of the internet. They're a completely different lot. Their outlook on life, their worldview, their thought is very different. And I think that's what marketers are racking their brains to kind of crack. They want to know what does Young India wants? Everybody wants to define young India. But I think the one key word that comes to mind is dynamicism. I think that's why the entrepreneurship in our country is seeing a boom of late.”
