The much-talked-about Yash starrer KGF – Chapter 2 was released quite a while back, and since then the film has been dominating the box office window. Despite new releases hitting screens since its release, KGF 2 has managed to retain its hold over the audience. Now in its fifth week running the film has seen its collections remain more or less stable.
In this box office report, we look at the fifth-week collections of KGF – Chapter 2 while comparing the same to previous releases that have made it this far. Collecting Rs. 10.25 cr, KGF 2 has managed to become the fifth all-time highest fifth-week grosser. In fact, the business of film has surpassed previous releases like 3 Idiots which collected Rs. 9.56 cr, Dangal which collected Rs. 8.95 cr, Kabir Singh which collected Rs. 8.10 cr, Badhaai Ho which collected Rs. 8.00 cr, and Padmaavat which had collected Rs. 7.54 cr.
On the other hand, however, the fifth week business of KGF – Chapter 2 does not manage to beat certain other releases like Uri - The Surgical Strike which collected Rs. 18.90 cr, RRR which collected Rs. 12.15 cr, Baahubali 2 - The Conclusion which collected Rs. 11.78 cr, and Tanhaji - The Unsung Warrior which had collected Rs. 10.41 cr.
Going forward, with two new releases this week in the form of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Dhaakad, the business of KGF 2 is likely to see a dip in collections. Despite this, trade predictions claim that the Yash starrer will continue to see collections trickling in over its sixth weekend running and could see its overall collections, which are currently pegged at Rs. 430.95 cr inch closer to the Rs. 450 cr mark.
